ST. ANTHONY SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

The St. Anthony School Alumni Association. Inc. (SASAA) traces its beginnings to April of 1982, when a group of concerned graduates, led by Ms. Carolina Muñoz (Class 1964), banded together to form an organization that will efficiently and effectively meet the needs of the SAS graduates. It was this same group who worked on drafting of the Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws of the Association which was subsequently filed for registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

In a general reunion held in June 1983. the final draft was approved and the members of the first Board of Trustees ere elected. It was not until February 13. 1985 when the SEC finally approved the registration that the Association obtained a juridical personality.

The first president of the SASAA was Mr. Antonio Carillo of class 1969. Other presidents who have served the association since its incorporation were: Ms. Precy Sy (Class 1969), Julio Logarta. Jr. (Class 1966) and Restituto Arevalo (Class 1975).

It was also in 1985 when the Alumni Association launched a scholarship program which is open to talented but needy high school students. This program provides not only tuition fees but free books and school supplies as well. The Association is proud to have its firs scholar graduated during the school year 1988-1989. Two (2) others followed in 1992 and so on. . The Association is relying on its members for their valued support and cooperation and to all of them go our deepest gratitude.

Membership expansion, Scholarship Program and Medical Mission are currently the priority activities of the Association. Along this line, an initial roster of graduates has been prepared and distributed to present members. Hopefully, this will encourage other graduates to touch base with the Association and subsequently register with the SASAA.
